“Ponniyin Selvan” by Kalki Krishnamurthy is a historical fiction story which was written 60 years before and its glory is still intact. The story is based on few historical facts of Chola Dynasty. This novel definitely deserves the credit of being a magnum piece in Tamil literature. To have all 5 series on the bookshelf is a pride and the way characters portrayed are marvelous. It is very addictive book, and you can never let the book down just by reading one chapter.
